Event Information
Join us for a clay therapy workshop as part of our Living Well program.
Learn skills to quieten your mind and step away from the anxieties of breast cancer through the grounding medium of clay.
Clay is a natural substance and a wonderful medium in which to creatively express ourselves while having an intense tactile experience. Clay-work lends itself to a variety of therapeutic aims, including facilitating expression of emotions, revealing unconscious thoughts, stimulating catharsis and the like.
The breast cancer journey is often filled with fear and anxiety that pervades every-day life. Apart from the physical disease, some challenging and difficult emotions may arise.
In this clay workshop we aim to:
- Encourage mindfulness and clarity of thought, while putting stressful thoughts aside
- Develop mindful skills to ease the breast cancer experience.
- Look at the importance of self-care and self-compassion
Please bring an old shirt or apron, as well as a tray or flat box for taking home your clay-work creations.
